Alan Paul is the author Big In China (Harper) a memoir about raising three American children in Beijing and forming Woodie Alan, an award-winning blues band with three Chinese musicians. Ivan Reitman's Montecito Pictures has optioned the film rights.

Although I know the "homecoming" is an essential part of the journey, it was difficult for us to return home after living abroad for several years. I found this quote from TS Eliot summed up the experience and thought you might appreciate it:
We shall not cease from exploration And the end of all our exploring Will be to arrive where we started And know the place for the first time.
